Orate in Final Rounds of Fast Company’s “Pitch it to Win it” This Week

Fast Company and Hyatt Regency open voting today for the eight finalists in their “Pitch it to Win it” competition. Voting will continue throughout this week until this Thursday, when the final $10,000 winner will be announced. Voting is open to the public and those interested in voting can do so using the following link:  fastcompany.com/elevatorpitch.

VOTING DATES

  • NOVEMBER 16: TOP 8 (4 from Tysons Corner & 4 from Chicago)
  • NOVEMBER 17: TOP 4 (2 from Tysons Corner & 2 from Chicago)
  • NOVEMBER 18: TOP 2 (1 from Tysons Corner & 1 from Chicago)
  • NOVEMBER 19: WINNER ANNOUNCED

The finalists are the top four pitch winners of preliminary competitions held in DC and Chicago at the end of last month. During these preliminary rounds, entrepreneurs were given two minutes to pitch their startup while literally taking an elevator ride with one of the competition’s judges*. Criteria for selection included pitch delivery (40%) and business idea (60%) (1).

This week, bracket-like voting will pin DC and Chicago winners against one another. Among the remaining entrepreneurs is Orate’s CEO, Veronica Eklund (based in DC).

“Public speaking is at the center of everything we do at Orate - and a huge component of personal branding. This is one of the many reasons that we decided to participate in the pitch competition.” Eklund stated.
