"Reclaiming the Martin Luther King I Knew" I knew and followed Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and I have a different take from the usual descriptions of the essence of what he did and what he advocated as a leader of the civil rights movement. For example, outside of the Vietnam War, Dr. King seldom advocated for peace as is often claimed. Rather he often complained that if people wanted peace in the United States then they should work for justice, as true peace came in the presence of justice.
